RIM Architects: Designing Alaska for nearly 30 years

Founded in Anchorage, Alaska in 1986, RIM Architects has provided professional architectural services for over 28 years, working for public and private clients on projects of all sizes and scope. RIM’s corporate headquarters are in Anchorage, with additional offices in California, Guam and Hawaii. With a firm-wide staff of 76, including 28 licensed Architects and 20 Intern/Graduate Architects; CADD and QA/QC specialists, and administrative and management staff, RIM Architects works with clients and design team members throughout the US, Japan, China and Europe. RIM Architects has been involved in the design of many of Alaska’s most iconic buildings, ranging from remote visitor centers in the pristine wilderness settings of National Parks, to urban mid-rise office buildings in Alaska’s largest city. Enjoying long-standing positive relationships with Alaska’s developers and contractors, RIM’s projects deliver a business case for good design. An example of this is the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, which saves 27% annually in energy costs as a result of work completed by RIM Architects and their design team for the Remodel & Seismic/Security Upgrades at Concourses A&B. RIM’s projects include: Denali and Eielson Visitor Centers at Denali National Park & Preserve; Centerpoint West Business Campus in mid-town Anchorage; numerous fire stations throughout Anchorage, Eagle River and Kenai; the Consortium Library and ANSEP buildings on the campus of UAA; Alaska’s northernmost hospital in Barrow; and numerous residential, hotel and military projects across Alaska.
