A Message from the General Manager

Elections matter. In 2012, we wrote these very same words to you as we explained why we had chosen to actively participate in the 2012 state elections.

In 2012, we created “We Are Alaska” to educate the public on the support industry and to promote candidates who support our issues and who understand that our jobs and our economy are driven by resource development.

Déjà vu. In 2014, “We Are Alaska” will be used to educate the public, however, in 2014, our organization has registered with the Alaska Public Offices Commission as “We Are Alaska – No on One.”

This registration will allow us to educate the public on the impacts of the referendum to repeal oil tax reform. Our voice needs to be heard – we are the 30,000 Alaskan employees that deliver the resources to market. We have a story to tell.

From now until the primary election on August 19th, our website – weareak.com – will be the sole source of information for the campaign. We also have a Facebook page. I would encourage you to go to these pages to stay informed.

Many thanks for all that you do for Alaska.
