The Alliance, in cooperation with First National Bank Alaska, urges the Alaska State Legislature to act in the 2010 regular legislative session to halt the loss of jobs for Alaskans and to reduce our unemployment rate by establishing policy and/or amending law to further incentivize investment and increase the competitiveness of Alaska relative to other oil producing areas, so that creation of jobs for Alaskans and opportunities for Alaska businesses may sustain the state economy for generations of Alaskans to come.

The president and chief operating officer of ConocoPhillips Inc. and the president of North American Gas & Power for BP have joined the list of top executives from the global and Alaska oil and gas industry who will speak at the 26th annual Meet Alaska energy conference on Jan. 23.

Joining John Carrig (ConocoPhillips) and Brian Frank (BP) in the Meet Alaska speaker line-up are senior officials from Pioneer Natural Resources, Talisman Energy, the Business Roundtable, the University of Alaska Institute of Social & Economic Research, ExxonMobil and the international oil and gas consulting firm Wood Mackenzie. There also will be a special segment on the challenges of drilling at the Point Thomson and Liberty projects by officials from Parker Drilling and Nabors Alaska Drilling.
